Creative Fields: Visual arts, artisan sourdough baking, landscape design, lime-paint-inventing, surfboard inventing, athlete, youtubing, interior design, lighting design, facilitation, futures trading, skateboarding, product design, graphic design, Ai training, writing, athleticism, learning.
Themes: Spatial relationships and physical movement / expression.
Why I Volunteer: Bassendean Arts helped me to bake artisan loaves for the local community and (as President) it’s my turn to support the committee and members.
Shonie McKibbon
Vice President
Creative fields: ceramics and community engagement. I’ve been Involved in the Bassendean arts scene since 2014 when I worked with teachers at Cyril Jackson and local artists to develop the ArtsHouse project.
Aspirations and Vision: My passion is community development, connection, and bringing people together to both share ideas and work together to deliver great outcomes.
Why Bassendean Arts: I hope to continue the focus on supporting and showcasing the arts community in our fabulous town.
Amanda Reid
Treasurer
Creative Fields: Ceramicist and dressmaker, with a passion for gardens and creating awesome spaces. Professionally I provide strategic leadership and counsel to and within government, corporate, not for profit and professional services across multiple sectors.
Themes: I love new projects and challenges, working with diverse and inspiring people, and thinking creatively to find solutions to complex problems and deliver great social outcomes.
Why I Volunteer for Bassendean Arts: I’m here to bring people together and grow strong relationships to deliver amazing and meaningful outcomes.
Jacqui Otago
Secretary
Dancer, improviser and dance artist
Creative Fields: Jacqui has established herself as a dance artist, performer and teacher in Perth since graduating from QUT in 1989. She is a member of the Momentum Dance Company, facilities the Perth Improvisation Practice PiP and Contact Improvisation Perth.
Aspirations and vision: Jacqui’s performance repertoire includes many works in collaboration with local and international choreographers.
Why I Volunteer: : Bassendean Arts provides the supportive platform needed to enable new dance experiences and opportunities for the local community of Bassendean.
Carol Seidel
Committee Member
Creative fields: Photography, visual arts, I got into pen and ink drawing during my travels while overseas and back in Australia, still doing it 33 years later.
Themes: Making art as purpose and meaning in the community. Exploring the neighbourhood. I inherited my artistic ability from my mother's side of the family.
Why Bassendean Arts: I was the founding president of BAC way back in1984 and I still I want us to be seen by the community helping local Artists (making creative works).
