Committee Renewal
After two years it has been a great prvilege to have been president for such amazing members and a wonderful committee. I have stepped down as President of Bassendean Arts Community for the following reasons:
- I want to practice art styles and expressions (and be active in the community in ways) that are incompatible with being president.
- Your committee has the skills to continue through to the AGM
- Jane Dundas (acting president) is better connected to/with members than me (and this is a member-driven community). She took part in open studios over the past two years and many of our members are artists who took part in open studios.
This gives all members time to consider the future of Bassendean Arts prior to the AGM. I encourage you to nominate and/or vote for your chosen committee. All committee members and positions (treasurer, secretary, vice president and president) are to be voted on by members at the AGM. In person voting at the AGM is the only option as proxy voting (or other forms) is not allowed under our constitution.
As an artist, Jane will serve members well as president. She will act in the role of president and has nominated to continue as president (to be voted on by members at the AGM).

Membership renewals are due in March 2026
Members, you will receive an email and SMS reminder about renewing your BAC membership. Depite high inflation we have managed to keep the costs the same as we have for many years: $45 per year, which includes public liability insurance. We are no longer able to offer discounts for partial year coverage but we do offer discounts for members in financial hardship, or who hold valid student concessions or pension concessions (simply email BAC with a copy of your concession card).
Reminder: AGM will be held 4pm Sat 18 April 2026
Bassendean Arts Community’s AGM is booked for 4pm 18 April 2026.
Note: You will have received a separate, formal email notification of the AGM. All committee members and positions (treasurer, secretary, vice president and president) are to be voted on in person voting at the AGM. Proxy voting (or other forms) is not allowed under our constitution. I look forward to seeing you there. It’s also a chance to catch up informally with committee and other members (over nibbles and drinks).
We are considering runnign workshop due to community demand and would like to hear your thoughts on this.

Open Studios is Returning for 2026
Many of our members exhibited at open studios in 2024/25 and it returns for November 7 and 8 2026. This is run by some of our members and I look forward to participating. It’s nice to have something creative set up for later in the year.
